ENAMELLED LAVASTONE – Aesthetic Durable Functional

Lava is molten rock (magma) that has been erupted at a volcano, usually at temperatures from 800 to 1,200 °C

Solidified lava on the Earth’s crust is predominantly silicate minerals: mostly feldspars, feldspathoids, olivine, pyroxenes, amphiboles, micas and quartz.

At the Lava Stone Quarry site large rectilinear pieces to be cut into slabs for counters, tiles, etc. are selected carefully.

Lavastone pieces are cut to proper sizes with big saw cutters

Then the slabs are prepared using CNC machines according to the projects.

Prepared Lavastone for the project is then hand painted for decorated pieces by painters or spray painted with top quality ceramic glazes for smooth unicolor surfaces.

Decorated and painted pieces are then fired in ceramic kilns at 1000 C degrees to fix the coated glaze to the stone during a period of 48 hours.

After firing it is ensured that the glazed lavastone is durable for all weather conditions, and the colors used for decoration never fades with time.

Lava stone is being preferred in all architectural applications in recent years as a highly aesthetic, very useful material that does not scratch, is not affected by heat, is easy to clean, does not deform over time, can remain as the first day for decades, and can be applied in any color.
